^ Never heard of it though it sounds like fun.

Seen three films today, first True Grit which was really really good, don't think I could call it great but it's a huge amount of fun, all the performances were great and it's much harder edged than the old version of the film which was cool.
Then I saw The King's Speech, fucking loved it, very funny, extremely well played, heartbreaking and ultimately very uplifting.
Last I saw Paul, it far exceeded low expectations caused by a monumentally shit trailer. That said the jokes are very hit and miss, though the hit rate is about high enough to justify it.

Finally got around to watching Social Network, thought it was very good if a bit overrated. Also watched Splice, which I really liked. Managed to keep a really dark indie feel to it and re-raised the human cloning debate really nicely.

And I also watched Four Lions tonight. See no valid reason why Raji James was not in it. He'd be brilliant at being a failed terrorist.

I just watched The Usual Suspects, I fail to see what's so great about it. Despite the fact I spent the majority of the film at a loss as to what's going on I still saw the ending coming a mile away and thought it underwhelming then.

Also watched Thriller: A Cruel Picture, liked that a lot. Good, honest nastiness with a fucking awesome final act.

Saw a brilliant film last night, Natural born Killer, was on just after the NME awards. Suprisingly good, brilliant performaces all round, most notably Woody Harrelson, playing possibly my new favourite serial killer from any film. Would definetly recommend it, even though, the style is a little confusing to follow to say the least. Top film.

Talking of serial killers; I finally got 'round to watching The Poughkeepsie Tapes. Really good I thought. Way better than Saw or any of that bollocks.

Tim I've seen Last Year at Marienbad it is truly wonderful. I found it to be an incomprehensible philosophical puzzle. I'd be interested to see what you thought of it?
I like to look at it as an exploration of man's relationship with an elusive conception of reality. I couldn't tell if the past or present even existed. The flow of time in that film is so disjointed that 'the now' seems to become meaningless. In fact even in attempting to read the film I'd say you have to base your interpretation on faith alone which is a very Absurd experience indeed. Definately worth watching, if only to hurt your head.

Recently I watched this swedish movie, called You the Living, which I really liked. Roy Anderson is able to transform quite bleak subject matter into such brilliantly comical moments and its all shot on these really elaborate sets that look amazing. There's also loads of vaudevillian slapstick too and there's nothing wrong with that.

I'm currently watching Planning Your Florida Vacation for the sake of irritating my dear boy here, got whales, dolphins, white fish things and a dead twatty Cilla Balck impersonator chipping in every few seconds, absolutely brilliant.

Not really a film but it's all cut together and long enough to be on the dvd, watched the first story of Cracker: The Mad Woman In The Attic. People weren't lying when they said I was missing out, an incredibly strong piece of work in terms of acting and writing, beautifully paced too. Looking forward to the rest of the series with the greatest fervor.

I really liked the first season of Cracker, but it got more and more depressing as the show went on. That first story is great though.

Just watched The Red Shoes, incredible film, you know with Powell and Pressburger you're going to get something special but this is just amazing.

Watched Dreamcatcher earlier, what a stupid fucking film. Boring as all hell too.

Just watched Demons though, could only describe it as totally fucking sweet, bare bones plot that strings together a series of properly nasty killings with really enthusiastic effects work. Huge amounts of fun, contemplating whether to watch the second one now or go bed.

Watched Powder earlier. A lot of it was far too cliche and Hollywood, but I thought it was quite a sweet film with a few really good performances. Also re-watched What Dreams May Come yesterday, which I really like. Probably the most visually memorable film I've ever seen. Beautiful.

Not a film but I have watched every single episode of The Larry Sanders Show in the last nine days. I don't know how this was possible with workload and gigs, but I will say I've not slept much.

Would advise everyone to watch these at some point.
