and Plants V Zombies was recommended to me by Chris O'Dowd as he played it constantly during breaks at the IT Crowd - even has a PVZ mousemat in some eps.
I should get money for passing it on though.

Playing Demon souls just now cracking game but so unforgiving. Ive already broken one controller due to frustration!
Plants vs zombies is brilliant!Posted 1 year ago # -
Demon's Souls is an absolutely fantastic game. I was glued to that game last year and am thrilled it finally went to the UK. Such a bleak, dark, and thoroughly brutal game.
It's unforgiving, certainly, but that game's all about learning. Once you've gotten the strategy down, you feel amazing.

Halo Reach, getting my arse kicked by all and sundry online but it's a damn sight more fun than getting murdered as soon as you spawn on Modern Warfare 2...
Thinking about starting another run on Fallout 3 before New Vegas comes out. Still got to finish Red Dead Redemption, Forza 3, Alan Wake, Bioshock 2, Metro 2023 and Final Fantasy XIII.
Also, GTA Chinatown Wars, Doom and Angry Birds on the iPhone.
And now I discover Civilisation V, Dead Rising 2 and F1 2010 are all out on Friday. Then CoD Black OPs, Medal of Honour, Fable III... BALLS.

Persona 3 with the occasional God of War and online Modern Warfare 2.

PORTAL. But I have finished that now, so I am just sitting waiting for Portal 2.

Halo Reach!! Then Halo! Then Halo 2! Then Halo 3 again! because i joined the halo phenomenon a bit late. and i want to know the storyline and that is in chronological order :)

Portal is so great. Stephen Merchant is going to be great in the sequel.
Hey Ed - where be my postcard at dawg!?

I have been playing Halo Reach and Darksiders. I'm really enjoying Halo thus far, but I've been playing a lot more of Darksiders.
I also just finished Mafia 2 about a week ago. It was alright, if a bit unremarkable.

I just got a replacement copy of Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions after my one kept freezing in the same place. The new one worked. I completed it 3 minutes after putting it in the machine. That's how near the end it had fucked up.
I am now playing nothing but have just ordered Rugby League Live on the PS3 which comes out on the 2nd November. This will be the day that I cease playing any other game, cease the podcast, cease my comedy 'career', and cease speaking to anybody.

Don't think it's necessary to spam up the forum with another thread about games, so I'll ask in here for recommendations of old PSOne games to get; I'm trying to load up my PSP with some good titles before we move house and are stuck without internet for a fortnight or so (and thus will be massively bored). Doesn't have to be exclusive to the range you can download from the Playstation Network btw, my PSP is all modded n stuff so I can convert pretty much any old PSOne game to run on it (that's how sad my life is).

@jimsterling Yea im definitely guna keep at it. Its probably the only game where ive literally jumped for joy after beating a particularly brutal boss!
@jonjonb this is probably a bit obviouse but the original metal gear solid is great, its still one of my favourite games ever.

JonJonB: What are you into? The Final Fantasy games make great PSP titles, especially Final Fantasy IX (the best one). I can also recommend Legacy of Kain, Medievil, and Metal Gear Solid, although I don't know how well the latter plays on a PSP system.

Plants Vs Zombies >ahem< Game Of The Year Edition

Just finished playing Red Dead Redemption, I wish John Marston was real, he's the perfect man :)
Sad ending, but still loved it.

I found out recently that, rather than downloading the demo for Kane & Lynch 2, I'd actually bought the full game.
Kind of like finding a tenner in an old pair of jeans.
Although the game was a bit crap so more like finding a pound coin in an old shoe.
I liked the style of the game but the story was pretty poopsie and it was shorter than most shits I've had so worth a rent I guess.6/10

Tomb Raider Anniversary, Just so i can make her crawl and look at her bum! oh on the ps2 by the way as i have no new consoles!:-( 3stars some funny bits

@JonJonB - my best PSOne game was always Cool Boarders. To the point that I once told a girl I was brilliant at snowboarding and meant it, despite the fact I have never been on one in real life.
And I liked the look of Demon Souls but want guiding through games in some way - even if that's just a map with icons on it. One of my other least favourite and veeeery disappointing games was Brutal Legend. LOVED the demo - proper looked forward to it - then the game wasn't what the demo had promised. The first three levels (from the demo) were different to the rest of the game. So if Demon Souls is another one of these ones where I have to magically know what to do with no guidance, or if it is all complicated and tactical, then somebody tell me now before I buy it.
I recently paid forty quid for Star Wars: Empire At War for the Mac, played it once and am now terrified of how complicated it is. I would be no use in a war.
Apart from when I won WWII that time.

My best PS2 games would have to be Shadow of the Colossus, The Warriors and Psychonaughts, (although thinking about it, that may have been on xbox).
Just realised you were looking for PSOne games.
Ah well, doesn't really matter does it?Posted 1 year ago # -
Ray: Demon's Souls is a very trial-and-error game. The game expects you to die a LOT and learn from your mistakes. Other players online can also leave notes around the levels to give you clues about where to go.
You have to be in the right frame of mind, going into it, and I don't know if you'd really like it. It can be quite frustrating if you're not prepared for the sheer volume of brutality it throws at you.
However, it's a beautiful game, and one of the very few games I would award a 10/10 to. It just requires so much time, effort and patience and I can't fault anybody for not wanting to put in the hours.

Just watched a Portal 2 video after reading that Stephen Merchant was supplying the voice of a little robot.
It's kind of cool and all but it left me feeling that they should digitally treat his voice or something. Do something to make him sound a bit more like a robot.
Merchant has a very distinctive voice so the whole time I was watching the video I was thinking "That's Stephen Merchant. That's Stephen Merchant. That's Stephen Merchant." Which could become distracting when actually playing the game.
That said, I'm really looking forward to the game and I'm still trying to convince friends to play the first one without giving too much away.
I played the original Portal thinking it was simply a pretty looking puzzler. When the story elements started creeping in, I was utterly hooked.
Hope the second instalment lives up to its predecessor.Posted 1 year ago # -
Right - on the final level of Blur, one of the goals is to complete a lap not going below 120mph (like Speed but with no bomb). Is this even possible? And if it is, what track and what car please as it is ruining my life and I have an important telly meeting tomorrow which I have planned nothing for because of this.
It is my last thing to unlock. Come on.
Posted 1 year ago # -
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C5Y8m2irF-g Shows you pretty much how to do it. Blur is bloody tricky, don't think I got anywhere near the end of it.
Posted 1 year ago # -
Well that looks easy which means it won't be.
I will try it tomorrow evening when I get back from my warm up as a reward.
Thank you for that.
Posted 1 year ago # -
Yeah it's a tricky one Blur, I don't think I got far on it. Getting Dead Rising 2 tomorrow, heard they changed the shit timed thing and the constant phone calls from the first one so it might be alright.

Anyone who has been doing a playing of Halo Reach, is it worth spending £40 on? Just recently got Live again, and have just been playing a lot of Gears of War 2 multiplayer, which is brilliant but getting a bit bored of it and want something new.

IGN guides rarely let me down so you should find some answers here.
You're in for a treat.
(Just got the reference to The Room by the way, nice)
