I am excited about this Warm Up. Directors/actors commentary is good but what about a commentary on the commentary?

Posted 5 months ago # -
i bet Ray eat some Chocolate all up in his mouth
Posted 5 months ago # -
Nope I done writing of Emergency Broadcast 3 for Kings Place, watched Saints get robbed by Wigan on Friday on Sky, and on monday we recorded next weeks podcast.
Posted 5 months ago # -
Ray - What happened at Sainsburys?
Ray - Have any thoughts or memories of Keele? I know you played there earlier this year.Ed - Where are you?
Posted 5 months ago # -
Spud - Either I have gone invisible or it was full of cunts.
Spud - I liked Keele but it was badly organised and the security staff in the room were very rude. The ones wearing yellow coats. We had to tell them to stop talking during the show. Idiots. Can't speak for Ed. Good luck hearing from him.

dear ray and ed me and brother can not decide weather or not to come see the emergency broadcast in Nottingham or just you and ed just doing stand up in Birmingham. which would be better
Posted 5 months ago # -
I would rather see E.B., but have little choice / money so am going to the MAC gig.
Posted 5 months ago # -
Seems ridiculous to not do both.
Posted 5 months ago # -
i cant seem to change my profile pic/avatar, am i doing something wrong
Posted 5 months ago # -
I don't know what you are doing so can't say.
I think Nood said something about them all being locked because of a virus one time. I often have to spend five minutes concentrating on how to get my emails so I am perhaps the wrong person to ask.

Ray - just a reminder that I'm going to be working at the London Film and Comic Con in a few weeks (and hopefully having a fondle off Amy from Dr Who...). If you've got a decent hi-res scan of a flyer, or better still, some actual flyers, I'll happily distribute them at the con. By a happy coincidence, i'm coming to your Welwyn gig the night before (Fri 8th July), so I could pick them up there.....

Yo
Rather stupidly never sorted this out - been rather stretched all the ridiculous admin for Edinburgh. Almost certainly won't be able to rustle anything up as sadly now don't have a day off till Sept, but can send you hi-res if you wish to make a poster (send me a message on "contact us" on front page and I'll send it direct to your email). I have met the girl off Doctor Who if that is the redhead one. She was on Graham Norton one of the days I had to do it. So that is probably a good a link as you'll need to be allowed to feel her up.Posted 3 months ago # -
If Ed has the diabetes and therefore can't eat nice things like cakes and chocolate why is he a big fatty?
Posted 3 months ago # -
Ooh, didnt know this topic existed, pretty interesting. Ill chip in i suppose.
Do you really enjoy talking to people after gigs or is it just a bit of a ploy to keep people keen? The last thing i ever want to do after i finish work for the day is have a chat with someone. Maybe its just me being a grumpy arse though.
Oh oh and also, what is your best one of Marvel characters?
Posted 3 months ago # -
I shall ignore Nood the naughty boy.
Ash - How on earth would meeting us keep people keen! We do our best to get out after the shows as quickly as possible to meet folk, often getting unthanked cleaning fairies to pack away our stuff so we can. Not an issue at all, and not done begrudgingly. Hardly a chore to say hello to a few people who have been good enough to come support us. Last night there was the two guys who had come down from Glasgow which was just ace of them and a girl that kept feeling us up. So it is usually an adventure.
Probably Spider-Man, Possibly DareDevil. Soft spot for Frank Castle too.

Are you interested in Paul Heaton's show "The 8th" Ray? Managing to catch it over the next few days? Got a friend going who wouldn't hand the ticket over even when I offered to prostitute myself for it.
Posted 3 months ago # -
ooh ooh I've got another one if you wouldnt mind.
Out of all the jokes/sketches you write for stand up or for anything else, what percentage actually makes the final cut and ends up being performed? I read something once that said that on average, out of a hundred jokes only 5-10 of them make it into an act. Is that true for you, or for comics in general?
Posted 3 months ago # -
@A Predator - yep think The 8th will be great, not least of all as it reunites Heaton with Jaqui Abbott from The Beautiful South. Would have loved to go see it but busy times prohibit it. I also had comp tickets for Richard Cheese tomorrow night which I can't go to for the same reason.
@Ash I sadly don't have any jokes so that doesn't really apply to me, mainly just stories from my mouth which get told and re-told with slight amendments. For the fringe show we have written and performed ten hours over the course of the Kings Place work in progress shows, and that is now in the process of being edited down into an hour, so 10% is probably about right. Although we have performed all of it at least once, most of it twice as we are switcherooing in previews now.

I'm probably going doolally and might have imagined it but I could have sworn I was reading some lengthy blog posts and even heard you mention it in the podcast now I can't see it anywhere. Where has it gone?
Posted 3 months ago # -
After a lengthy discussion with people producing our show it was decided to discontinue it.
Posted 3 months ago # -
Well that's a bummer I was enjoying that.
Posted 3 months ago # -
Yep - same ...

I'm assuming your date at the Colchester Arts Centre, Essex is the one in Colchester, UK? Not Colchester, USA, as the google maps thing on the page suggests.
Also Ray, have you ever seen the RedLetterMedia Star Wars reviews? I know youre a star wars fan and they sum up everything wrong with the prequels in a funny way. They're really long and the guy talks like a prick but theyre worth a watch.
http://redlettermedia.com/plinkett/Posted 3 months ago # -
Yep everything is UK for now. The googlemaps thing isn't massively helpful when I'm inputting dates as, if I don't have postcodes etc, it just makes up it's own stuff.
I think I am in a bit of a minority over the SW prequels as I'm not nearly as gripey as most people about them. They're not without flaws but they're also not as horrific as many fanboys seem to feel. Will still take a look at that thing however cheers.

What made you choose "Ray Peacock" as your stage name? Were there other options that were disregarded?
Is Ed Gamble a stage name too?
Posted 3 months ago # -
I didn't choose it, a guy called Jon that I used to work with came up with it when he wrote a monologue for a sketch show we were doing about an aggressive Yorkshireman who came to London to stand as Lord Mayor. I did him as character in stand up for a few years and then reverted to being myself on stage but retaining the name I'd got known as.
Ed is Ed's name.

Quick question re Colchester Gig 26th July - what time does the show end? Will come to it as long as I don't miss the last train and get stranded there like Predator did in Leicester that time.
Posted 3 months ago # -
Okay, so I couldn't sleep and was browsing the internet and stumbled across the trailer for Mark Hamill's new film. Trailer actually looks quite good. Then half way through the trailer, some familiar looking bloke is standing there with blood pouring out of his face.
In short what I'm asking is: why is Raji James in a film with Luke Skywalker/The Clown Prince of Crime, and did he get you an autograph?

hahaha, you're right! There he is! Some (relatively) big names in that film as well. Nice one, Raji.Posted 3 months ago #
