As a rule;
small telly - xbox
big ol' hd - ps3
but God of War is a sony product and therefore a PS exclusive, so maybe a nice PS3 slim in the new year sales is the answer.
You will also get to play Uncharted1 and 2, which might be right up your street.Posted 1 week ago # -
If you have nothing, the Xbox 360 works as the starter. It has a slightly more extensive game library than the PS3. The PS3 has some excellent exclusive games, but they are not quite so common. Plus Xbox Live has a wide range of quality download titles.
It also depends on what types of games you like. The 360 has a variety of games, but leans toward the action/shooter variety. The PS3 has a few more unique, risky titles. Oh, and the excellent Killzone series.Posted 1 week ago # -
if you're thinking about getting online for it aswell then you need to take into account that if you want to play online with friends more then i would get an xbox (as you can have xbox live parties e.t.c)
but if you're not bothered about online as much then going by your gaming choices/preferences you might be better with a ps3Posted 1 week ago # -
PS3 has great games and is an excellent media player, but Xbox isn't a bad choice if money is a factor. Just for god's sake stay away from the terrible graveyard of shit shovelware that is the Wii.

I agree with JonJonB, Xbox is for poor people who should be looked down on and pitied by the much higher class PS3 owners. If you see any Xbox 360 owners when you go out tomorrow (they'll be the ones wearing a barrel with flies round them) I suggest you spit on them then give them a penny, that way they can learn their lesson about being poor and you can help them all at once.

I say go by exclusive titles and see which ones are more interesting to you. If Halo's your bag, go with 360, if it's Uncharted, go with PS3.

Bit of a sarcasm overload there, Predator, I only meant that sometimes Xbox can be significantly cheaper than PS3 (depending on particular models) without that being reflected in the product. Dunno how well-off you and your circle of friends are but I know shitloads of people where cost was probably the biggest concern in their choice of console. I personally just took a bit longer to put more money away and get a PS3 because it appealed to me more, it's nothing to do with "class".

^ I like sarcasm boyo so tend to overload on it, not to be taken seriously at all, it was just for jokes. I'm a 360 owner and i like it a lot though i do long for a PS3 after spending a week with my uncle's while he was away, either one has it's pros and cons ILOVEBUSTERS, but the PS3 has the blu ray player (which is pretty much the best blu ray player you could ever own) which I'd say inches it just above the 360.

PS3 all the way!
I've got all 3. The Wii gets turned on once in blue moon to twat around on Wii Fit.
I still have a 360 released within the first three months of release so I'm too scared to turn it on in case it RRODs. I believe even the new models of the 360 are prone to this. Much,much less than the original but it's still a possibility AFAIK (I could be wrong though).
The PS3 gets most play whether it be games, iPlayer, Blu-Rays or as media player. It's a nice bit of kit IMO, far superior in build quality than the 360 and I prefer the more quirky range of games available for it.Posted 1 week ago # -

Hello everyone this is my first post. I am wearing anus protector so no ideas ok.
I play lots and lots of games and have 360 and PS3 so I'm probably in the top twenty or ten sources in the world for an UNBIASED opinion although Bill Gates did once give me a kiss but the PS3 saved my life (twice).
Firstly I would ask if you want to play games online as the 360 is hugely, hugely superior for this. If you wish me to explain I can but it's just a helluva lot easier to be playing a game within minutes with some friends or some pretend internet friends if none of your real friends play games or they're all tramps or something.
I don't know what the FLIP CharlieSolace is going on about with his "as a rule bit", grafixxx for the consoles are all but identical and both look amazing in HD but can also be played on small tellys like.
They've levelled out but I'd say the 360 has overall best games and for multiformat stuff I always choose it because 1) games usually look SLIGHTLY better and 2) the controller is much nicer.
Thus ends my first post are we friends now.

Many Thanks for all your help.
At the moment it looks like it will be a 360 as i dont think my funds will allow a ps3!Is It worth getting the 250gb or will the 4gb suffice?
Love you x

I was amazed by how quickly my memory got filled up so i'd go for the 250gb one personally.

You can just delete games and it doesn't take long to reinstall games and you can swap games around and don't worry about having the smaller one meighte.

@Caulk Master
I assumed by "small telly" the guy meant its not HD and therefore a blu-ray player is no use.
If your telly is HD, get either. Its probably gonna break in a year or two anyway.Posted 1 week ago # -
Get yourself a PS3 and me an XBox. Thankyou and Merry Xmas thankyou.
